What we collect
When people use the WeedPro app, they create activity about strains. WeedPro Insights is built from that activity:
- Strain pages they view and searches they run in the app
- Strains they add to their favorites
- Star ratings they give strains
- Which strains they log in their journal
- The reason they choose for using cannabis
- Their approximate state, from app analytics
What else Insights uses
Insights links that activity to the WeedPro strain database, which holds no information about app users:
- Strain attributes, such as type, THC level, terpenes and flavors
- The number of US dispensaries that list each strain
- Public consumer strain reviews compiled in the database, used for reported effects and long-run trends
Review data is reported separately from WeedPro user ratings.
Insights does not use names, email addresses, precise location, device identifiers, or the text of personal journal notes.
How we aggregate and de-identify
Before data reaches a dashboard, report or export, we:
- Remove anything that identifies a person, such as account details and device information.
- Standardize strain names so the same strain is counted the same way.
- Combine activity across many users into totals, shares and trends.
Customers only ever see these combined numbers. There is no view, export or API in WeedPro Insights that shows a single user’s activity.
What we never sell
- Personal information about any user
- Individual records, journal entries or activity logs
- Email addresses, contact details or account information
- Anything that could be used to identify or contact a user
Our customer agreements also forbid any attempt to re-identify users from Insights data.
Our de-identification commitment
We publicly commit to the following for all WeedPro Insights data:
- We keep Insights data in de-identified, aggregated form and take reasonable measures so it cannot be linked to any person or device.
- We will not attempt to re-identify any person from Insights data.
- No strain, state or group figure rests on fewer than 10 users.
- Every customer must agree in writing not to re-identify users, and to pass the same restriction on to anyone they share the data with.
Who we sell to
We sell WeedPro Insights only to verified, licensed businesses: cultivators, brands, processors, dispensaries and breeders, plus the investors and consultants who work with them. Every request is checked, including the state license number, before we send a payment link or a login. This protects our users’ privacy and the value of the data.
What users agree to
Contributing to aggregated, de-identified data is part of using the WeedPro app. We explain it in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which users accept when they use the app. Nothing that identifies a user is ever part of it.
Users who no longer want their activity counted can stop using the app and ask us to delete their account and data by emailing hello@weedpro.app. Deleted data is not included in new Insights data.
No medical claims
Strain information in the WeedPro app, such as effects, symptoms and conditions, comes from the WeedPro strain library and is general information. WeedPro Insights reports what users do in the app, such as the strains they view, save and rate and the purpose they choose, and the effects reviewers tag in public consumer reviews. Neither is medical advice, and neither is a claim that any strain treats, cures or prevents a condition. We ask customers not to present Insights data as medical evidence.
